The beauty of nature has always had a way of capturing the heart and stirring the soul—no matter your age. Whether it’s standing on the summit of a mountain in Aspen, Colorado, as the leaves burst into color, or sitting beside a quiet creek in southeast Michigan, listening to frogs sing their evening song, the magic never fades.
These are the kinds of moments that stay with you.
They ground you.
They remind you what’s real.
But not everyone has the chance to experience them.
After seven years working as a first responder, I encountered thousands of patients—both adults and children—confined to hospital rooms, and patient care facilities receiving life-sustaining care. Day after day, they face a world far removed from the outdoors. The steady beep of monitors. A maze of needles, tubes, and wires. Endless procedures, and outside those walls—a world just out of reach.
Fresh air. Open space. Freedom.
Things so many of us take for granted.
It’s impossible not to feel for what they’re missing.
At some point, a simple question took hold: What if the outdoors could come to them?
What if, even for a moment, someone—young or old—could close their eyes and feel as though they were skipping stones across a quiet river, resting beneath towering pines, watching the moon rise behind distant peaks, or listening to the echo of wildlife across a vast canyon?
That question is why I started Outdoor Ventures.
This mail club was created for people who love the outdoors—not just for what it gives them, but for what it can give to someone else.
Because the best moments in life aren’t found on a screen.
They’re felt.
They’re experienced.
They’re remembered.
With every subscription, you don’t just receive a letter.
You send one.
A second letter is delivered to children and adults in hospitals, and patient care facilities— crafted with care, a sense of wonder, and intention: to offer a moment of escape into the great out doors.
So take a moment for yourself—and for someone else.
Step away from the noise, and breathe a little deeper.
Feel the cold water glide through your fingers as you kayak along a quiet river. Hear the call of a loon echo across still, foggy waters at dawn. Watch the wind move through the trees, as if it’s sharing a secret meant only for you. In the distance, a fish breaks the surface—startling a deer at the water’s edge. Nearby, a chickadee chirps loudly, almost laughing at the moment.
You look up—and smile.
These are the moments waiting for you at Outdoor Ventures.
And now, they’re waiting for someone else, too.
Every delivery is more than just a letter—it’s something you can hold onto. A quiet pause in your day. A reminder of a slower, simpler, and beautiful world that still exists.
Each month, you’ll receive an escape in your mailbox.
And with it, you’ll send one to someone who needs it even more.
If nature has ever given you something—
this is your chance to pass it on.
